What does “30-40” mean

“30-40” actually relates to an actual tennis game score, meaning when you arrive at  “30-40” you need to win an important point, to arrive at “deuce”. Then you need 2 clear points in succession, to win an actual tennis game. This therefore all relates to having to ‘win’ points and therefore ‘better oneself’, to achieve your target.  This by definition means, “improving”.
